Hard Drive Repair & Data Recovery

Failed Hard Drive? We Recover the Data When Others Can't.

Clicking drives, blue screens, lost partitions, deleted files — we repair and recover data from HDDs, SSDs, and NVMe drives across Albany, Schenectady, Troy & the Capital Region. Free diagnostic. No data, no fee on most jobs.

What's Included

Data Recovery — All Failure Types

Logical failures (deleted files, OS corruption, partition loss) and physical failures (clicking drives, dead controllers, head crashes). We handle both HDDs and SSDs.

Same-Day Diagnostics

Drop off before 11 AM, get a diagnostic the same day. We tell you exactly what failed and the realistic recovery odds — before you spend a dime.

All Drive Types

Spinning HDDs (2.5", 3.5"), SATA/M.2/NVMe SSDs, external USB drives, RAID arrays. Major brands: Seagate, WD, Samsung, Crucial, SanDisk, Toshiba.

No Data, No Fee

On most recovery jobs, if we can't get your data back, you don't pay for the recovery work. You only owe the diagnostic fee.

Privacy & Confidentiality

Your data stays in our shop. We don't outsource. NDAs available for business clients with sensitive data.

Migration to New Drive

Once we recover your data, we can clone it to a new drive, install it back in your machine, and have you running again the same day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Diagnostic is free or low-cost. Logical recovery (deleted files, corrupted partitions) typically runs $150–$350. Physical recovery (failed drive electronics, head issues) ranges $300–$800 depending on severity. We give you a flat quote before any work, and most jobs are no data, no fee.
A clicking drive almost always means the read/write heads have failed and the drive is physically dying. Power it off immediately — every minute it runs makes recovery harder. Bring it in and we'll assess it in a clean environment. Recovery is often still possible.
SSD recovery is harder than HDD recovery because there are no moving parts to bypass — when an SSD controller fails, the encrypted data is locked. We can recover SSDs with logical failures (deleted files, OS issues) reliably. Physical SSD recovery has lower success rates but we'll tell you the odds upfront.
Diagnostics: same day. Logical recovery: 24–72 hours. Physical recovery: 3–7 business days depending on the failure mode and whether we need to source donor parts.
Yes — RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10. We rebuild arrays from member drives even when the controller is dead. Bring all drives from the array, labeled with their original slot positions if possible.
Logical recovery is non-destructive — we image the drive and work from the image. Physical recovery sometimes requires opening the drive, which voids any warranty but is necessary for head replacement or platter access. We always discuss the risk before proceeding.
